Unsecured loans worth Rs 2.82 crore lakh sanctioned to MSMEs: Rane
Loans in the amount of Rs 2.82 crore lakh were sanctioned on November 12 this year under the unsecured loan program for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), Parliament informed on Monday.
The government has put in place an unsecured loan program of Rs 3 lakh crore as of May 23, 2020 which is expected to benefit 45 lakh MSMEs, Union MSME Minister Narayan Rane said in a written response to Rajya Sabha.
“As of November 12, 2021, loans amounting to Rs 2.82 crore lakh have been sanctioned,” he said. Rane also said the Center announced that MSME contributions should be paid by government agencies and CPSEs within 45 days.
“From May 2020 until November 25, 2021, pending payments of Rs 77,171.82 crore have been made,” the minister said.
In a separate response, he said that under the Prime Minister’s Job Creation Program (PMEGP), the estimated number of jobs generated in microenterprises in 2020-2021 and 2021-2022 (as of November 15 2021) was 5.95 lakh and 2.90 lakh. , respectively.
“The number of units set up during the year 2020-21 and 2021-22 (as of November 15, 2021) was 74,415 and 36,271 respectively and the monetary margin used during the year 2020-21 and 2021-22 (as of November 15, 2021) were Rs 2 18 880 lakh and Rs 1 14 352 lakh respectively under PMEGP ”, he added.
