Talk to Football initiateFormer Premier League striker Kevin Campbell tipped ex-Inter Milan ace to add a threat to West Ham’s ranks.

“We saw Richarlison come from Brazil in the Premier League and do really well. A lot of players came in as strangers and did really well. It depends on the team and the individual. He will be competing with it. [Michail] Antonio and the good thing about Antonio is that he can play just about anywhere. He’s so versatile. I think Barbosa could come in and be a real asset. If he can settle down quickly, West Ham has a real player in his hands. His statistics are incredible but it will be more difficult in England.

During the 2020/21 campaign, Barbosa has scored 29 times and recorded nine more assists in 43 appearances in all competitions.

The signing of the Brazilian leader would certainly add competition essential for seats at the London Stadium.

While it may not be perceived as the very elitist level, Barbosa’s level 84 goals in 124 outings for Flamengo is an exceptional record.

Valued at £ 23.4million and under contract in South America until 2024 (Transfer market), West Ham may need to significantly increase its supply in order to make this deal a reality.
