AKPK offers loan repayment assistance


KUALA LUMPUR: The Credit Counseling and Debt Management Agency (AKPK) offers targeted repayment assistance for its Debt Management Program (DMP) clients who have been affected by recent flooding in several states.

In a statement released yesterday, the AKPK said the offer was made to help ease the financial burden on its customers.

“The repayment assistance includes postponing or reducing the monthly DMP payments, subject to customer requests and the AKPK’s assessment.

“All of these services are free and the AKPK has never appointed any third party agents or representatives to act on its behalf.”

AKPK customers affected by the flooding can apply for reimbursement assistance online at http://customer.akpk.org.my/ or visit https://www.akpk.org.my for more information .

At the same time, Affin Bank Bhd and Affin Islamic Bank Bhd announced that they are offering flood-affected clients a six-month moratorium as part of their Financial Assistance and Staged Assistance (FAIR) program.

Group chairman and chief executive Datuk Wan Razly Abdullah Wan Ali said that thanks to the FAIR financial aid program, clients could defer their loan repayment for six months if they were affected by flooding .
